While in Edinburgh, she meets Elliott Fraser, an irresistible and irascible Highlander.
Elliott is CEO of MacKlenna Farm in Lexington, Kentucky. He manages the farm with a firm grip, but he can’t control the demons from his past wreaking havoc with his health. When his multi-million-dollar Thoroughbred is murdered, he believes an old nemesis is out to destroy him and the farm. It’s the worst possible time to meet a woman who loves Scotland, horses, and a wee half when she’s thirsty—a woman he thought didn’t exist.
A crisis tears them apart within days of meeting, but their passion refuses to be quieted, setting off an explosive chain of events that threaten their hopes for the future. Interview with the Bestselling author Caroline Fardig, author of the amazing book "It's Just a Little Crush

Today I’m pleased to welcome a Bestselling author Caroline Fardig, author of the wonderful book, It’s Just a Little Crush

It's Just a Little Crush (A Lizzie Hart Mystery)
Let’s welcome Caroline to share her thoughts about her book and writing career.

How did you start your writing career?

I just decided one day that I would sit down and write a book!  I had an idea for a plot bouncing around in my head, and figured, why not?  So, I sat down and wrote my first novel.

Where do you research for your books?

I mainly do Internet research, but I’ve pulled a lot of experiences from my own life.  I ask family and friends for help on subjects they’ve had experience in also.

Tell us a little about your book. Who is your favorite character and why?

Here’s my book blurb:

The sleepy town of Liberty hasn’t seen murder in…well…ever. Residents are stunned when the body of a young woman is found strangled, and reporters at the Liberty Chronicle are thrilled, rather disturbingly, over the biggest news story to hit town this century.

Lizzie Hart has even bigger problems. Lately, she can’t seem to concentrate on her job as copy editor at the Chronicle with the new hunky investigative reporter, Blake Morgan, swaggering around the office. How can a girl work when she’s using all of her energy combating Blake-induced hot flashes and struggling to repress the giggly inner schoolgirl that’s constantly rearing her dorky head? It’s a good thing that Blake barely knows Lizzie exists.

After an odd string of events, however, Lizzie begins to wonder if Blake is really as fabulous as she has fantasized. When Lizzie and Blake find a co-worker dead, Blake’s personality changes completely—and not in a good way. Even though the police rule the death as an accident, Lizzie immediately suspects foul play and senses a connection to the recent murder. She is determined to bring the killer to justice, but is having some trouble getting her Nancy Drew on thanks to the pesky stalker she’s picked up—Blake Morgan. Wait, didn’t she want him to follow her around and pay attention to her? Not like this. Blake has turned from cool and smooth to cold and downright scary, making Lizzie wonder if he should be next on her suspect list.

As for my favorite character—it’s definitely Lizzie.  She’s fun and sassy!

Use no more than two sentences. Why should we read your book?

It’s fun and funny, and a great escape!

How do you react to a bad review of your book?

I try not to get my feelings hurt, but I’m only human, right?  Mainly what I look for is the reason that the person gave a bad review.  On the ones where they read the first few pages and didn’t like it, I just write those off.  And if the review is bad because of differences in personal preference, I write those off as well—not everyone is going to like every book they read.  I don’t.
What books have most influenced your life?

I’m not a person who looks for books with a moral, or ones that make you have a new outlook on your life.  I read purely for fun, and I don’t like any of my books to get too serious.  So, except for the Bible, I wouldn’t say that my life has been influenced much by any particular book.

Who is your favorite author?

I love Kristan Higgins.  I’m reading her latest book right now.  She writes chick-lit romances, which are all fun and funny.
Tell us what you are working on now?

Right now, I’m working on a chick-lit book that’s not a part of my usual series.  I’m so used to writing mysteries, it’s difficult for me to not have to hide several of the characters’ true natures.

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

Marketing them!  I could sit and write day in and day out, and that would be fun.  However, if you don’t do any marketing, you won’t get them out in front of people, so it’s a necessary evil.
Do you hear from your readers? What kinds of questions do they ask?

Yes, I do, and I love hearing from people.  They mainly ask when the second book in my Lizzie Hart Mysteries series will come out, because I put a pretty good teaser at the end of It’s Just a Little Crush.
What do you do to unwind and relax?

I like to throw parties, watch movies, and hang out with my husband and kids.

Describe what it’s like to be an author in three words.

Crazy, frustrating, wonderful.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

I almost took a totally different career path last year—I had a deposit down on buying a restaurant, but long story short, it just wasn’t meant to be.  I wanted something to fill my time, so I decided to get my book out there and see what happened.  I’m so happy that things worked out the way they did!

Do you have a favorite quote, or saying? What is it?

I love the quote “It’ll cost nothing to dream and everything not to.”  It’s on a big canvas (by Rodney White) right in front of my desk where I write.

Here is another wonderful book by Joanna Lloyd
Beyond Innocence

Electra Shipley lies in a mite-infested bunk, weak from lack of food and seasickness. Imprisoned and sentenced to seven years’ transportation, she sails towards the penal colony of New South Wales, Australia. Despite the odds, she is determined to survive, to clear her name, and return to her life of wealth and ease in England.
William Radcliffe has fled the betrayals of his father and fiancée to make a new life in the colony. When a transport ship from England docks, William stumbles across much more than mere trade cargo. Haunted by the beautiful convict with wild hair and golden eyes, William decides a compliant and grateful convict wife might meet his needs without the complications of love. Electra must now decide whether a loveless marriage with a "colonial barbarian" is preferable to imprisonment.
William is unprepared for the deeply suppressed passion his new wife arouses within him. Against his conviction never to love, he begins to desire Electra and the sexual tension between them sparks into a fierce physical attraction he longs to satisfy.
But Electra has made enemies on the ship and a vicious act of revenge endangers her life and the lives of the people she has come to love. Can Electra and William’s love survive the perils of this land and its inhabitants, or will their pasts destroy their future?
